Manimahesh Kailash Parikarma Trek
Manimahesh Kailash Parikrama Snow trek is
also known as Manimahesh Kailash yatra vai Kugti. This is not normal
trek like Dhancho route as the facilities are very rare. The trek is
quite adventurous and long. The route is over foot prints and difficult
to bring ponies and horse for help. Manimahesh Kailash is regarded in
many sects of Hinduism as the ultimate destination of souls and the
spiritual centre of the world. In Hinduism, it is believed that Mountain
Manimahesh Kailash is the house and adobe of Lord Shiva, the destroyer
of evil and sorrow. He sits in the state of meditation along with his
family. Manimahesh Kailash is lies between the 32° 24′ 6″ N, 76° 40′ 9″
E with the altitude of 5653 meters / 18447 feet from main sea level.
Manimahesh Parikrama is
a route which covers Manimahesh Kailash & Lake with round trip via
Kugti village and back journey via Gourikund and Dhancho. This route
also covers the Famous Temple of ancient Chaurasi Temples & Goddess
Brahmani Mata at Bharmour with Kartik temple and Mata Marali Temple at
Kugti. This route covers the all famous destination related to the Holy
Kailash Manimahesh.
This is the parikrama route to
Manimahesh Kailash. During Yatra there will be only one langar at Base
Camp before reaching Gaurikund. It is advised that if you are good
trekker only then go for parikrama with the help of experienced guides,
tents and meal items. This trekking route will be opened from 15th May - 30th October.
This is quite tough trek so don’t go without trekking guide as the
facilities are very rear in this trek and trail becomes very adventrous
and tough when you near to reach the top of Jotnu Pass and the most of
trek from Base Camp to Gaurikund is over boulder and snow.
